Victory Oil & Energy Launches Community Education Initiative at Lagos State Model Nursery & Primary School

Lekki, Lagos | Victory Oil & Energy has formally inaugurated a structured community education partnership at Lagos State Model Nursery & Primary School, Lekki Phase 1, reinforcing its position that sustainable industry leadership must be anchored in grassroots development.

The initiative represents a deliberate shift from periodic outreach to long-term institutional support, integrating educational empowerment into the company’s broader corporate responsibility framework within Nigeria.

The intervention commenced with a comprehensive revitalization of the school’s physical environment. Classrooms and shared facilities were fully repainted and restored, elevating the learning atmosphere and reaffirming the dignity of public education spaces within the community. Beyond infrastructure enhancement, the company engaged directly with school administrators and teaching staff to assess operational needs and identify areas requiring sustained support.

Essential supplies, educational support and guidance were offered to strengthen daily learning activities, while the company sponsored the school’s Inter-House Sports competition promoting discipline, teamwork, and confidence-building among pupils.

However, the defining element of the initiative was articulated by the Director, Mr. Ola Adebowale, whose address reframed the programme as a long-term responsibility rather than a one-time gesture.

“This is not an event,” Mr. Adebowale stated. “It is a commitment. If we are present in this community, then we must be responsible to it.”

He further emphasized a hands-on accountability model for the company’s leadership and staff.

“At some point, each of us will adopt a pupil. We will track their academic progress. We will provide routine and swift support where necessary. We will not stand at a distance, we will be involved.”

His remarks underscored a philosophy that aligns corporate growth with human development. By encouraging team members to take personal ownership of a pupil’s academic journey, the initiative establishes a mentorship-driven support structure designed to ensure continuity, stability, and measurable impact.

Mr. Adebowale also highlighted the broader vision behind the programme:
“Industries are built by people. The future of our sector sits in classrooms like this. If we want a stronger energy industry tomorrow, we must invest in the children who will lead it.”

Victory Oil & Energy has consequently pledged sustained partnership with the institution responding to infrastructural, academic, and developmental needs as they arise. The approach moves beyond philanthropy toward embedded community integration, positioning the school as a long-term stakeholder within the company’s local footprint.
